Dream Fuel
A brand new weekly 60-minute musical exploration, Dream Fuel With Arlo Parks - a space for music fans to share, relate, reflect, create, engage and be inspired.
Across each of the episodes, Arlo will curate a personal playlist, interwoven with ideas and reflections, poetry, voicenotes, field recordings and art, as she checks in from various locations while on tour across the US. Engaging directly with fans, friends and peers on each episode, Dream Fuel is both an ongoing musical conversation and an intimate, honest exchange of creative thought and inspiration.
Arlo, London born singer-songwriter and poet, came onto the music scene back in 2019, with two EPs which were exposed on Radio 1 and she has since released her debut album, Collapsed in Sunbeams (2021). She also received a Brit Award for Best New Artist and the Mercury Prize in the same year.
In the first episode of her brand-new series, Arlo sets out her intention for Dream Fuel, sharing favourite songs, cultural reflections and a personal voicenote or two. Arlo also catches up with US tour-mate Clairo, and the two play each other songs and discuss creativity and musical inspiration.
Arlo says: “With Dream Fuel I wanted to create a space to share music that I’m moved by and discuss dreams and illuminations with artists I’m inspired by. I wanted this program to feel intimate and intentional but also have some of the imperfections that pepper the podcasts, ambient records and lo-fi recordings I love. Curation has always been almost like an art form to me so I’m so grateful to BBC Sounds for allowing me to spread positivity and bring people together through this project.”
